Job summary

Lord Search & Selection Ltd is recruiting for a Head of Finance in Birmingham to lead the finance function within a privately-owned SME. You will partner with the board to drive financial strategy, oversee monthly management reporting, and ensure robust internal controls.

The successful candidate will have a qualified accounting qualification and a proven track record in SME environments, combining hands-on financial management with strategic business partnering and people leadership.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with SME leadership experience.
• Proven track record in management accounting and budgeting.
• Strong commercial acumen and business partnering.
• Hands-on finance leadership with people management.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts with commentary for the Board.
• Own annual budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Lead a finance team of three.
• Manage invoicing, credit control and internal controls.
• Liaise with auditors, bankers, insurers and tax authorities.
• Provide commercial insight to support strategic decisions.
