Job summary

SF Group in Birmingham seeks a Divisional Finance Director to lead finance across its manufacturing division with multiple sites. Reporting to the Divisional MD and working closely with the Group CFO, you will blend strategic leadership with hands-on commercial finance.

You will oversee planning, forecasting, reporting, capex governance, cash flow and financial control, while driving profitability, pricing and cost recovery actions across the division.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with senior finance leadership experience in large-scale manufacturing.
• Proven track record across multi-site finance teams and complex cost structures.
• Experience with ERP systems improvements and transformation programmes.

Divisional Finance Director: Birmingham
Manufacturing Division | £1bn Turnover | Multi-Site UK & Ireland
A leading, privately owned manufacturing group is seeking an outstanding Divisional Finance Director to lead finance across its £1bn turnover manufacturing division, spanning multiple product categories and sites.
Reporting to the Divisional Managing Director and working closely with the Group CFO, you will be a key member of the divisional leadership team, combining strategic leadership with hands-on commercial and operational finance. Your remit will include:
Leading planning, forecasting, reporting, capex governance, cash flow and financial control across a complex multi-site footprint
Driving commercial finance, including customer and product profitability, pricing, cost recovery and inflation pass-through
Partnering with operations to improve yield, labour efficiency, waste, OEE and inventory control
Challenging and appraising major tenders, automation investments, M&A and transformation programmes
Leading and developing a high-performing team of divisional financial controllers
You will be a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent) with proven Finance Director experience in large-scale manufacturing and a track record in businesses of £100m+ turnover. You will have led finance teams across multiple sites, delivered cost optimisation and transformation, and gained experience of ERP and systems improvements.
Private equity or listed company exposure is advantageous.
Influential, analytical and results-driven, you will have the credibility to challenge and support senior operational and commercial leaders in a fast-paced environment.
Working pattern: This is a hands-on, visible leadership role. You will be based in Birmingham two days a week and out at manufacturing sites across the UK two days a week, with flexibility for the remaining day.
