A leading automotive company in Milton Keynes is seeking a Regulatory Reporting Specialist to provide high-quality reporting and insight for informed decision-making. The role requires a fully qualified accountant with strong leadership and financial strategy skills. Ideal candidates will bring at least 3 years of experience in a Private Equity-backed environment and possess excellent communication and analytical capacity. You will be pivotal in achieving business objectives and enhancing financial operations.

Regulatory Reporting Specialist

This is a hands‑on, business‑facing role well suited to a confident leader who enjoys partnering closely with senior stakeholders, influencing strategy, and driving continuous improvement across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the achievement of the business objectives by providing advice and guidance on financial strategy
  • Lead financial strategy, budgeting, forecasting and cash‑flow management
  • Produce timely monthly P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow reporting, plus Board‑level management accounts
  • Ensure compliance with all statutory, audit and tax requirements, including production of statutory accounts
  • Maintain strong internal controls, financial systems and risk management processes
  • Provide commercial insight to support pricing, discount structures, margin improvement and stock management
  • Utilise Power BI and BI tools to deliver real‑time analysis and performance reporting
Person Specification
  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA of equivalent)
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a Private Equity‑backed environment (or similar)
  • Ability to balance strategic‑level activities with the requirement to be ‘hands‑on’ and close to detail
  • Proven leadership experience within a finance team and associated management responsibility
  • Strong understanding of financial controls, governance and compliance
  • Commercially focused with experience improving profitability and cash generation
  • Strong Excel and systems skills; confident working with BI tools
  • Excellent communicator with the ability to influence finance and non‑finance stakeholders
  • High attention to detail, with resilience and the ability to work under pressure

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced, commercially minded finance leader to join an ambitious organisation at a pivotal point on its growth journey.

About the Role

The Finance Director will provide strategic, commercial and operational financial leadership across the Group, overseeing all financial operations while also taking responsibility for the HR and IT functions. You will drive financial performance, ensure robust governance and controls, manage cashflow, and deliver value creation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop the Finance, Credit Control, Purchase Ledger, HR and IT teams
  • Manage banking, audit and external advisory relationships
