Job summary

University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Management Accountant to support production and analysis of monthly management accounts, budget statements and variance reports. You will partner with managers to provide budgeting guidance, costings and financial performance insights within a large NHS Trust environment.

You will maintain strong financial controls, prepare journals and reconciliations, and assist with annual budgets and forecasts.

Qualifications

• Graduate Level/AAT member or equivalent
• 3 years' experience in a finance environment
• Understanding of budgetary control processes
• Comfortable with IT and spreadsheet modelling
• Understanding of financial systems and general ledger

Responsibilities

• Produce and analyse monthly management accounts and variance reports
• Provide budgeting, payroll, costing, coding and financial guidance to managers
• Maintain financial controls with journals, reconciliations and month-end processes
• Support annual budgets and forecasts through financial planning
• Contribute to process improvements and service development initiatives
