Overview

Join our team as a Finance Business Partner, where you'll play a pivotal role in providing expert financial support and guidance to designated business areas. Your responsibilities will include interpreting and modeling complex data analysis, advising on projects and initiatives, and supporting the Head of Finance and Chief Financial Officer. This role is crucial in driving financial success and strategic decision-making for the company.

We welcome candidates transitioning from an accounting role into a business partnering position and are open to considering newly qualified accountants.


How you'll make an impact

  • Act as a finance business partner, providing expert financial information, advice, and guidance to designated business areas.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships to help business areas achieve targets with a focus on value-added activities.
  • Perform critical reviews of financial data and provide high-quality support for informed decision-making aligned with company strategy.
  • Support growth, change initiatives, and strive for improved profitability in line with company objectives.
  • Support the annual budget process and various finance initiatives.
  • Produce monthly forecasts to help manage revenue and profitability targets.
  • Understand and support strong cash flow positions for designated business areas.
  • Prepare business cases to support decision-making and deputise for the Head of Finance as needed.

Monthly Management Reporting:

  • Support and lead the monthly financial close process with the Glasgow finance team.
  • Present monthly management accounts during financial reviews.
  • Embed financial control in business processes and answer ad hoc queries.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

  • Support the annual budget process, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
  • Coordinate business submissions during budgeting and strategic planning.
  • Improve forecasting models and contribute to planning process development.
  • Deliver accurate allocation of overhead expenses to business units.

Business Partnering and Decision Support:

  • Build relationships with key stakeholders to enable improvement and change.
  • Develop an understanding of the business for thorough financial reporting and performance analysis.
  • Challenge business decisions and cost management with insightful financial information.
  • Prepare and deliver investment business cases and support cost/benefit tracking.

Change Management:

  • Contribute to finance inputs for new broking platform development.
  • Support and drive change/improvement activities across Finance and the wider business.

About You

  • Qualified accountant (ACCA/CA/CIMA or equivalent) with experience of supporting non-accounting managers in complex financial analysis and modelling.
  • Knowledge of Management Accounting techniques and Financial Accounting principles.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
