Job summary

City Plumbing is seeking a customer-focused Finance Business Partner to deliver analytical and reporting insight enabling data-driven commercial decisions. You will own business partnering, budgeting, forecasting, reporting and present to the wider business, collaborating with FP&A and branch operations teams.

You will be fully qualified in ACA/ACCA/CIMA or part-qualified with exams left to complete, and bring Advanced Excel/Google Sheets, strong communication, and a commercial mindset to drive

Qualifications

• Fully qualified in CIMA, ACCA, or ACA.
• Advanced Excel and Google Sheets skills with proven experience in manipulating large data slabs.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex data for both Finance and Non-Finance teams.
• Solid commercial awareness, including sales and margin experience, vendor management, and business processes.
• Preferred: Knowledge of SQL, process automation, and visualisation tools like Data Studio/Looker Studio.
• Preferred: Experience with profitability analysis, working capital management, and multi-site/supply chain knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Deliver strategic financial partnership to key business areas, acting as the primary liaison for management and trading meetings.Provide actionable, commercially focused reporting that empowers business partners to make data-driven decisions.
• Articulate and interpret key financial performance metrics and trends, proactively highlighting risks and opportunities.
• Appraise investment proposals and conduct post-implementation reviews to support our investment strategy.Complete annual planning cycles in collaboration with finance teams, including budgets, reforecasts, and the 5-year plan.
• Track and support key business initiatives to drive growth and operational profitability.
• Continuously evaluate and refine key performance reporting to sharpen the business's focus on profitability drivers.
• Partner with finance colleagues to ensure comprehensive oversight of Balance Sheet and P&L performance.

The Role:

As a Finance BP, you'll provide excellent analytical and reporting information to deliver the best commercial decisions. The Finance Business Partner will take ownership of areas such as business partnering, budget forecasting, reporting and presenting to the wider business, as well as working closely with the FP&A reporting and branch operation teams.

Whilst our preference is for someone to be fully qualified in either ACA / ACCA / CIMA, we will also consider more junior applicants who are currently part-qualified and studying with a few exams left to complete
