Job summary

A leading heating solutions provider based in Basildon is seeking a Finance Business Partner to provide analytical and financial reporting to support commercial decision-making. This role is ideal for a fully-qualified Business Partner or a part-qualified Finance Analyst ready for growth. Key responsibilities include business partnering, budget forecasting, and key financial reporting. The candidate should have strong Excel skills and experience in financial roles within retail or manufacturing. A comprehensive benefits package and supportive work environment are offered.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in business partnering is essential.
• CIMA/ACCA/ACA qualification preferred, part-qualified also considered.
• Experience with large data manipulation in Excel required.
• Strong experience in Excel with large data manipulation.
• SQL knowledge is beneficial.
• Financial experience in Retail or Manufacturing is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Provide Business Partnering and financial support to colleagues.
• Support reporting and budgeting cycles throughout the year.
• Deliver presentations about key business themes in management meetings.
• Delivering annual planning cycles (forecasts, budgets, 5-year plans).
• Reviewing reporting to drive profitability improvements.

Job description

As a Finance Business Partner, you’ll provide excellent analytical and reporting information to deliver the best commercial decisions. The Finance BP will take ownership of areas such as business partnering, budget forecasting (3 times a year), reporting and presenting to the wider business, as well as working closely with the FP&A reporting and branch operation teams.

This is a hugely significant role that would either suit a fully-qualified Business Partner, or a part-qualified Finance Analyst who has been exposed to business partnering before and is ready to take the step up.

Key Responsibilities

• Providing Business Partnering and key financial support to colleagues.
• Adding value by supporting other Business Partners and Finance Analysts with producing relevant reports and information to make business choices.
• Presenting the key themes facing the business at management meetings.
• Delivering annual planning cycles (forecasts, budgets, & 5‑year plans).
• Continually review key reporting to ensure the business remains focused on improving KPI metrics to improve profitability

Whilst our preference is for someone to be fully qualified in either ACA / ACCA / CIMA, we will also consider more junior applicants who are currently part-qualified and studying with a few exams left to complete.

Skills and competencies

• Strong demonstrable experience in business partnering.
• CIMA/ACCA/ACA Qualification would be beneficial but we would also consider part-qualified applicants.
• Ability to accurately follow departmental procedures.
• Strong experience in Excel is a must with evidence of large data slabs and manipulation (Google Sheets will also be considered).
• Well organised, with the ability to work under your own initiative managing multiple projects at once.
• SQL knowledge (or the ability to learn SQL) is also beneficial.
• Financial experience of working within Retail or Manufacturing industries is beneficial
