Job description

Fixed term for 12 months. Full time (37.5 hours a week)
Up to £53,000 per annum (depending on experience)

The role

As our Finance Business Analyst, you will work across the full finance transformation lifecycle; from discovery and process analysis through requirements, solution design, testing, implementation and transition. You will partner with Finance, Technology and Digital colleagues and external implementation specialists to shape robust, scalable finance capabilities.

You will analyse current processes, systems and data flows; identify opportunities to improve controls, reporting and operating models; and translate business, regulatory and technical needs into clear deliverables. Your work will help ensure new finance solutions are usable, well governed and aligned with organisational needs.

The team

Our Digital Delivery team plays a vital role in helping Energy Saving Trust deliver high-quality digital products and services that support our mission. Bringing together specialists from across disciplines, we work collaboratively to improve user experiences, enable effective decision-making and deliver solutions that create lasting impact.

We're a supportive and ambitious team that values curiosity, continuous improvement and evidence-based thinking. As we continue to evolve our digital services, we're looking for an experienced Senior Business Analyst who can help shape our approach to business analysis while developing capability across the organisation.

What you will do
  • Analyse and improve end-to-end finance processes, systems, controls and data flows.

  • Elicit, document and manage business requirements from discovery through design, build, testing and go-live.

  • Create functional specifications, user stories, acceptance criteria, process maps and data models.

  • Translate requirements between Finance teams, technical colleagues and implementation partners.

  • Support finance system configuration, integrations, data migration, cleansing, reconciliation and validation.

  • Define and improve financial reporting, management information, data governance and quality standards.

  • Plan and support user acceptance testing, test scenarios and defect triage.

  • Facilitate workshops and decision-making forums, building strong relationships across the programme.

  • Support implementation and a smooth transition into business as usual.

What you will bring
  • Proven Business Analyst experience within a finance transformation programme, finance systems implementation or major process improvement initiative.

  • Experience working with internal Finance teams and third-party suppliers or implementation partners.

  • Experience of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and other mid-tier finance or ERP systems.

  • Strong knowledge of requirements traceability, process mapping, system integrations and data migration.

  • Experience of data quality management, reporting requirements, UAT planning and defect triage.

  • Knowledge of financial controls, audit, regulatory and statutory requirements, approval workflows and data governance.

  • Strong analytical, data visualisation, facilitation, stakeholder management and communication skills.

  • The ability to turn complex requirements into clear, actionable deliverables in a fast-moving environment.

  • A collaborative approach and a commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion and accessibility.
