Sheridan Maine - Accounting, Audit & Tax Recruitment in Newbury is assisting an established West Berkshire business to recruit an Accounts Assistant. You will support a collaborative finance team, handling routine accounting tasks and gaining exposure to a broad range of financial activities.

The role offers flexible working options, ongoing training, AAT study support, and a clear path to broaden your accounting skills within a supportive team environment.

Competenze

• Knowledge of basic accounting principles is essential.
• Previous experience in an accounts or finance-based role is preferred.
• Strong IT skills and confidence working with financial information are required.

Mansioni

• Match supplier invoices against purchase orders and process documentation accurately.
• Manage employee expense claims and petty cash.
• Carry out supplier statement reconciliations and resolve differences.
• Assist with supplier payments including BACS and cheques.
• Support month-end tasks such as journals, reconciliations and reporting.
• Provide general accounting support to the finance team as needed.
