Job summary

Sheridan Maine is partnering with a market-leading Southampton-based company to recruit an Accounts Assistant for the head office finance team. You will enjoy working with numbers, reconciling bank statements and keeping financial data accurate and up to date.

Key duties include bank reconciliations, matching transactions, processing supplier payments, assisting with cashbook and balance sheet reconciliations, and supporting the accounts payable function.

Qualifications

• Experience in accounts or finance roles.
• Experience with bank reconciliations.
• Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach.

Responsibilities

• Complete daily and regular bank reconciliations across multiple bank accounts.
• Match bank transactions to records and investigate differences.
• Identify and resolve reconciliation discrepancies.
• Monitor bank accounts and ensure transactions are recorded accurately.
• Process and monitor supplier and other payments.
• Assist with cashbook and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Support accounts payable by processing invoices and resolving queries.
• Provide general finance team support as required.
