Job summary

Sheridan Maine - Accounting, Audit & Tax Recruitment is assisting a well‑established practice near Newbury in its search for an Accounts Senior / Part‑Qualified Accountant. You will join a friendly, supportive team with a varied client portfolio including accounts prep and tax work.

Key duties include accounts preparation, corporation tax and personal tax work, bookkeeping, VAT returns, reconciliations and year‑end accounts. Hybrid working is available after training.

Qualifications

• Experience in an accountancy practice and accounts preparation.
• Exposure to corporation tax and personal tax.
• Proficient with bookkeeping and accounting software (Xero/FreeAgent/QuickBooks).
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accounts for a range of business clients.
• Prepare and submit corporation tax returns.
• Support with personal tax and self‑assessment work.
• Manage bookkeeping for a range of clients.
• Complete VAT returns and other statutory submissions.
• Undertake bank and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Liaise with clients to resolve queries and provide high service levels.
• Support year‑end accounts and general practice accounting duties.
• Produce statutory accounts.
