Single Homeless Project have a new opportunity for a Finance Assistant to join our team based in Kings Cross. You will join us on a full time, permanent?basis, working 37.5 hours and in return, you will receive a competitive salary of starting at £27,007.50 and rising incrementally to £28,953.79 per annum.

About The Finance Assistant Role

We're looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to become an integral part of our dynamic Finance Team. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills and gain broad experience across all aspects of the organisation's accounts, working in a supportive and collaborative environment that values growth, learning, and contribution.

In this vital role, you'll support the Accountant and the wider Finance Team with a variety of finance-related processes and administrative tasks. Your work will include processing invoices, payments, rent receipts, and other transactions - ensuring accuracy and timeliness from the very first point of data entry. You'll be the go-to for handling queries, maintaining records, and helping to ensure the financial data we produce is not only precise but also adds real value to decision-making across Single Homeless Project (SHP). This role plays a key part in delivering high-quality transactional data that underpins everything from day-to-day operations to strategic planning and successful financial audits.

About You

  • Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Good numeracy skills and an understanding of double entry book keeping.
  • Good team player with ability to work on own initiative.
  • Demonstrable ability to use a computerised accounting system with specific ability to manage a large purchase and sales ledger.
  • Good organisational, record keeping and time management skills.

  • A salary increase after successfully completing six month's probationary period
  • A 37.5 hour working week including flexible working hours (core hours are 10am – 4pm) in non-accommodation services
