Job summary

DP World invites applications for a Finance Apprentice to gain hands-on experience across finance functions and work towards an AAT qualification. You will support day-to-day activities, rotate through AR, AP, fixed assets, and reporting, and contribute to month-end processes in a collaborative team environment.

The role requires 5 GCSEs (A-C) including Maths and English, strong organisation, and a proactive, detail-oriented mindset.

Job description

DP World are recruiting for a motivated and enthusiastic Finance Apprentice to join our Finance team. This role provides an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience across a range of finance functions while working towards an AAT qualification. The successful candidate will support day-to-day finance activities, develop their understanding of financial processes, and gain experience across areas including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, fixed assets, financial reporting, and month-end activities.

How you will contribute

• Study towards an AAT qualification while gaining practical experience within the UK Finance team.
• Provide general finance administration and complete accurate data inputting to support day-to-day finance activities.
• Rotate across different functions within the Finance team, supporting areas including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and fixed assets as required.
• Assist with the resolution of finance queries, working with colleagues to investigate and resolve issues effectively.
• Support the team with month-end activities, management accounts, and year-end procedures.
• Assist with financial reporting, ensuring information is accurate and provided within agreed timescales.
• Develop an understanding of finance processes and how different functions work together to support the wider business.
• Apply learning from your studies and on-the-job training to complete tasks accurately and effectively.
• Support the Finance team with ad hoc duties and other activities as required.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues, contributing to a positive and supportive team environment.
• Act as an ambassador for DP World at all times, promoting company values, safety standards, ethical practices, and a positive working culture.

What you will bring

• 5 GCSEs at Grade 4-9 (A-C equivalent), including Maths and English.
• A genuine interest in Finance and a desire to learn and develop within a finance environment.
• Good organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage tasks and meet deadlines.
• Ability to use your own initiative while recognising when support or guidance is required.
• Good team-working skills with the ability to build positive relationships with colleagues.
• Comfortable using Microsoft Office applications and other computer-based systems.
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
• A positive and enthusiastic approach with a willingness to learn new skills and take on new responsibilities.
• Good attention to detail with the ability to work accurately when handling financial information.
