We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Finance Assistant to join one of our clients dynamic finance team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting financial operations, ensuring accuracy in data entry, and assisting with various accounting tasks. This position is perfect for individuals looking to develop their skills in financial services while contributing to the overall efficiency of our organisation.

Responsibilities

  • - reporting to: FD/Head of Finance
  • working with: external accountants / internal operations teams
  • accounts payable: support verification of purchase invoices
  • purchase orders: raise purchase orders and make purchases for internal teams as per authorisation matrix
  • accounts receivable: raise customer invoices / liaise with operations team to identify additional services to be invoiced / investigate high invoice amounts
  • systems: working knowledge of Mintsoft (warehouse management system) and Xero
  • invoice queries: liaise with operations team to investigate and resolve invoice queries / respond to customers / update Mintsoft
  • Accounts inbox: respond to customer emails and other internal emails
  • reporting: support FD/head of with weekly KPI and other internal financial reportings (e.g. profitability per client)
  • ad hoc: support external accountants and internal teams with ad hoc queries raised

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a finance or accounting role is preferred, particularly within financial services.
  • Proficiency in accounting software including Mintsoft, Sage, or similar platforms is advantageous.
  • Strong data entry skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
  • Familiarity with accounts payable processes is desirable.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to liaise with colleagues across departments.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and a willingness to learn new systems and processes.
