Job summary

Lloyds Banking Group is recruiting a Finance Analyst in Edinburgh for a 12-month fixed-term contract. The role covers journals, reconciliations, reporting, and automation using Power Query and Excel. The hybrid working model requires two office days per week.

Ideal candidates have an accounting degree with ACCA/CIMA exemptions or are near completion of exams, plus strong stakeholder skills and a team-focused mindset.

Qualifications

• Accountancy degree completed within the last two years, with ACCA or CIMA exemptions leaving you with only six exams to complete.
• Part-qualified accountant with fewer than six exams remaining is eligible.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post finance journals.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and substantiation activities.
• Produce reporting and analysis to support month-end and daily finance processes.
• Identify opportunities to reduce manual effort within reporting and reconciliation processes.
• Develop and maintain Power Query and Excel-based automation solutions.
• Use macros to streamline journal preparation and approval workflows.
• Support data enrichment and process improvement initiatives.
• Investigate and resolve finance data and reporting issues.
• Deliver control checks to ensure processes remain accurate and properly controlled.
• Support change initiatives, including implementation of new finance processes and corrective journal activity.
