Job summary

Role: Finance Administrator Contract: Permanent Hours: 20 hours per week (Mon – Fri), Term-Time only, plus 5 Inset days Grade: JG 4 SCP 7 – SCP 11 / £26,403.00 - £28,142.00 per annum pro rata Actual Salary: £12,535.77 - £13,361.42

The Role:

High Down Schools are seeking to appoint an experienced, highly organised, flexible and friendly Finance Administrator to join our busy school office. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the financial, administrative and organisational functions of the school. Working closely with the Headteacher, school staff and the Lighthouse Schools Partnership Central Team, you will help ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the school's financial processes on a daily basis. The Finance Administrator will support the administration of school income and expenditure, process invoices and payments, maintain financial records, support audit requirements, administer ParentPay, monitor school assets and assist with the financial management of trips, lettings and events. The role also includes providing wider administrative support to the school office when required. This is a varied and rewarding role requiring excellent organisational skills, strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines effectively.

We are looking for someone who:
  • Is highly organised, methodical and able to work effectively in a busy environment with frequent interruptions
  • Has experience in financial administration and a good understanding of bookkeeping processes
  • Can accurately process financial information and maintain records with a high level of attention to detail
  • Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills and can build positive relationships with staff, parents, pupils and external suppliers
  • Can work with complete confidentiality and manage sensitive information appropriately
  • Has strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and ideally experience of accounting or financial systems
  • Has excellent time management skills and can prioritise workload to meet deadlines
  • Will actively contribute to the positive culture and values of both the school and the Lighthouse Schools Partnership
