Job summary

RES, part of the Wolseley Group, is seeking a Field Based Technical Sales Engineer for Renewables in East England. You will conduct site surveys, agree specs with installers/homeowners, and produce on‑site quotations and system handovers for Air Source Heat Pumps.

Role requires heat pump design/installation knowledge, MCS compliance, and a consultative approach. Based around East London or Ipswich, occasional travel is expected.

Qualifications

• Plumbing & Heating: Level 3 NVQ or equivalent.
• Heat Pumps: LCL/BPEC Heat Pump Design & Installation.
• Compliance: G3 Unvented Hot Water, WRAS, and knowledge of MCS standards.
• Technical Expertise: Experience in low‑temperature hydraulic design and electrical fault‑finding.
• Soft Skills: Consultative mindset to translate technical data for non‑technical customers.
• Logistics: Based in/around East London or Ipswich, with travel and overnight stays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Conduct technical site surveys, agree system specifications with installers/homeowners, produce on‑site quotations, commission Air Source Heat Pump systems and handle handovers.
• Produce room‑by‑room heat loss calculations, system designs and performance assessments using design tools, and compile technical proposals and quotations for the sales team.
• Act as Nominated Technical Supervisor for regional MCS projects, ensuring installations meet MCS standards and Building Regulations.
• Provide phone‑based and remote technical support, maintaining relationships with installers and acting as a technical contact.
