Job summary

Arm is seeking a Technical Survey Engineer to support assessment, design and delivery of domestic renewable heating systems in the UK. The role involves on-site surveys, heat loss calculations and producing system designs, plus technical support to installation teams.

You'll bring practical heating industry experience, knowledge of heat pump systems, the ability to work independently and travel to customer properties (up to two surveys daily).

Qualifications

• Experience in heat pump design or assessment.
• Knowledge of heat loss, building fabric and hydronic heating systems.
• Ability to design domestic heating systems.
• Strong communication and customer-facing skills; understanding of MCS requirements.
• Good attention to detail and methodical approach to technical work.
• Willingness to travel to customer properties; full UK driving licence.
• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in plumbing, heating or related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Carry out domestic site surveys to assess the suitability of properties for heat pump installations.
• Complete heat loss calculations and system sizing.
• Develop technically appropriate heating system designs.
• Provide technical advice and support to installation teams and project managers.
• Carry out heat pump servicing and reactive fault finding when required.
• Review completed installations and use feedback to improve survey and design processes.
• Help develop internal technical procedures, tools and documentation.
• Keep up to date with relevant industry standards, regulations, products and installation practices.
• Maintain a high standard of customer service during site visits.
