Job summary

Key Selection Recruitment Limited is seeking a Technical Sales Engineer to cover the Manchester, Lancashire, Cheshire, Yorkshire and Lincolnshire area. This field-based role blends account management with new business development to grow the customer base and win new opportunities.

You will provide expert technical advice on cutting tool selection, prepare proposals and quotations, and collaborate with the internal team to deliver the right tooling solutions. A driving licence is essential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in technical sales in cutting tools, tooling, or precision engineering.
• Strong understanding of turning, milling, drilling, and threading.
• Self-motivated, well-organised, and comfortable working autonomously.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Full UK driving licence.
• An engineering qualification or background is a distinct advantage.

Responsibilities

• Manage and grow an existing customer base across the above area.
• Identify and win new business across manufacturing, engineering, and aerospace sectors.
• Provide technical advice on cutting tool selection, application, and optimisation.
• Prepare and present technical proposals and quotations.
• Work closely with our internal support team to ensure customers get the right solution.
• Report on pipeline, territory activity, and market intelligence.
