Job summary

Cadent Gas Ltd. is seeking a Support Engineer to back frontline repair activities across the gas network in the Norwich/Suffolk area. You will work with Team Leaders and field colleagues to support emergency response, repairs and maintenance while upholding safety and compliance.

The role involves practical outdoor work, a 1-in-6 standby rota, and the use of respiratory PPE. A full UK driving licence is essential, with a basic salary of £28,443 during training rising to £30,111 when fully

Qualifications

• Role requires use of respiratory protective equipment and clean shaven for safety.

Responsibilities

• Attend gas escapes and support repair activities that help keep customers and communities safe.
• Assist with groundwork, excavations, reinstatements and a range of network maintenance activities.
• Promote safe working practices, using appropriate signing, lighting, guarding and cable avoidance techniques.
• Work closely with Team Leaders and operational colleagues to deliver high‑quality services.
• Support patrol and plant protection activities that help safeguard Cadent assets.
