Job summary

Matchtech seeks a Customer Support Engineer - Test Systems for an international aerospace client near Cheltenham. The role provides hands-on technical support for automated test systems, fault diagnosis, wiring, repair and improvement at a major customer site, with occasional UK/Europe travel.

You'll work as the primary site technical representative, interpreting schematics, using DMMs, oscilloscopes and LCR meters, and collaborating with engineering and maintenance teams to prevent recurring

Qualifications

• HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in Electrical, Electronic or related Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience fault‑finding electrical or electronic systems to module level.
• Experience supporting, maintaining, manufacturing or modifying complex electrical and electronic equipment.
• Strong practical skills in wiring, crimping, terminating and soldering.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary day‑to‑day technical representative at the customer site.
• Provide first‑line support for automated test systems and associated electrical and electronic equipment.
• Investigate faults, performance issues and operational challenges, escalating complex matters where specialist support is required.
• Diagnose electrical and electronic faults to module level, with component‑level investigation where appropriate.
• Carry out wiring, loom­ing, crimping, terminating, soldering, repair and rework activities.
• Interpret electrical schematics, wiring schedules, system diagrams and engineering drawings.
