Focal Systems is seeking a Field Service Technician to maintain installations across the UK, primarily in stores and at customer sites. The role operates under a casual worker agreement with zero guaranteed hours, requiring travel and flexible shifts including nights and weekends.

Applicants must hold a valid UK driving licence and be comfortable working with power tools on-site. The position offers variety, ongoing assignments, and opportunities to contribute to cutting-edge retail AI solutions.

Qualifications

• Proven Field Service Technician experience in field service, installation, construction or related field.
• Strong technical aptitude with troubleshooting for hardware and software issues.
• Proficiency with power tools and installation equipment.
• Good physical stamina for extended tasks (up to 9 hours).
• Detail-oriented to meet quality standards and specs.
• Strong time management to meet deadlines and schedules.
• Clear communication with supervisors, team and customers.

Responsibilities

• Onsite and offsite maintenance of camera hardware: diagnose, install, replace and configure per standards.
• Conduct routine preventative maintenance checks to identify/address issues.
• Respond promptly to service calls and meet customer SLAs.
• Maintain records of service activities, parts used and time spent using company tools.
• Onboarding/scanning products into the system.
• Attend installations at various clients during night hours as required.
• Install Focal Systems product onto shelves, ceilings and other equipment per plans.
• Operate power tools safely and efficiently to complete installations.
• Adhere to safety protocols to minimize risks during visits.
• Work collaboratively with team to ensure timely installations.
• Maintain high attention to detail to meet quality standards.
• Meet or exceed KPIs in speed and quality.
• Communicate progress updates to supervisors and team.
