Job summary

Alexander James Recruiting is seeking a field-based service engineer to service their client base across the North West. You will focus on electric trucks, road vehicles, tuggers and related equipment, with a competitive salary and benefits on offer.

The role involves carrying out servicing and maintenance, performing LOLER inspections, delivering excellent customer service, attending the workshop for training, and occasional overnight travel when required.

Qualifications

• Experience maintaining electric vehicles or material handling equipment.
• Full UK driving license.
• Willingness to travel and stay away overnight when required.

Responsibilities

• Service a North West client base focusing on electric trucks, road vehicles, tuggers and related equipment.
• Repair and service other material handling and specialist equipment.
• Carry out LOLER inspections and thorough examinations.
• Provide excellent customer service and represent the company professionally.
• Occasionally attend the workshop for meetings, training and parts collection.
• Travel further afield to support other technicians as needed.

Alexander James Recruiting is currently working with a well-established supplier of various types of electric vehicles and lifting equipment who are looking for a new field-based service engineer to service their client base across the North West. With a competitive salary & additional benefits, this is a great opportunity for an experienced engineer from electric vehicles, material handling, sweepers or related sectors interested in a new role.

Responsibilities

• Servicing a client base across the North West with a focus on servicing electric trucks, road vehicles, tuggers and other specialist vehicles
• Fixing and servicing other, related material handling & specialist equipment
• Carrying out LOLER & thorough examinations
• Ensuring excellent customer service and representing the company in the right way
• Attending the workshop from time to time for meetings, training & collecting parts
• Travelling further afield as and when required to support other technicians

Requirements

The company have a preference for an individual from a similar background in maintenance of either electric vehicles or material handling due to the requirements of the role. Given that the company also supply cleaning equipment, an individual from this sector would also be a possibility as would individuals from other sectors with strong electrical requirements such as commercial vehicles. You will be able to work well on your initiative, have good customer facing skills and hold a full UK driver’s license. In terms of location, you will need to be based in the North West but be willing to travel further afield and do the occasional overnight stay when required.
