Job summary

Coates Recruitment is seeking a Field Service Engineer for the Northwest England region, covering Bolton, Blackburn, Preston and North Manchester. You will travel from home to customer sites to perform maintenance, fault finding and repairs on electric industrial vehicles and equipment.

The role offers a home-based field service with a company van, a competitive salary (£38,000 - £50,000 OTE) and opportunities for professional growth within a growing engineering team.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years engineering experience.
• Strong electrical fault-finding ability.
• Experience using diagnostic equipment.
• Knowledge of CAN Bus systems (desirable).
• Traction battery experience (desirable).
• Full UK Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

• Planned preventative maintenance (PPM) Electrical and mechanical fault finding. Breakdown response and repair work.
• Diagnosing faults using diagnostic equipment.
• Managing jobs via PDA and laptop systems. Liaising directly with customers on-site.
• Maintaining van stock levels and vehicle condition. Coordinating with the service team regarding repairs and remedial works.
• Providing technical support and assistance to colleagues when required.

Field Service Engineer (North West England)

Location: Northwest England (Bolton, Blackburn, Preston & North Manchester Region)

Home Based / Field Based - Company Van Provided

Salary: £38,000 - £50,000 OTE

The Opportunity

This is a home-based field service role covering the Bolton, Blackburn, Preston and North Manchester area. You'll manage your own diary and travel directly from home to customer sites, carrying out maintenance, fault finding, repairs and technical support on a range of electric industrial vehicles and specialist equipment. No two days are the same, making this an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys problem solving, customer interaction and working independently.

About You

We're keen to speak with engineers from backgrounds such as:

• Forklift Engineering
• Plant Machinery
• Agricultural Machinery
• HGV / LGV Maintenance
• Automotive Engineering
• Material Handling Equipment

You’ll ideally have:
