Job summary

Hitachi Energy is seeking a highly organised Field Service Coordinator to support the delivery of field service operations across the UK. This role coordinates resources, equipment, vehicles and requirements to ensure safe and efficient transformer services, grid connection projects, commissioning activities, planned maintenance, reactive maintenance and emergency response.

Qualifications

• Experience in resource planning, scheduling, service coordination, or operational support within a Field Service Engineering or technical environment.
• Proven experience or understanding of Fleet management processes and services.
• Experience managing engineer scheduling, workforce planning, and operational resource allocation.
• Experience raising and managing purchase orders and supplier relationships would be advantageous.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a demanding operational environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Outlook, Teams, and business management systems.
• Understanding of Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality (HSEQ) requirements in engineering contexts.
• Experience supporting High Voltage, Transformer, Grid Connection, or wider Power Systems activities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain short-term and long-term resource plans to support service operations, project delivery, and business growth.
• Coordinate the deployment of field engineers, commissioning staff, and specialist subcontractors to meet customer and project requirements.
• Monitor resource utilisation and identify potential capacity constraints, skills gaps, and future recruitment requirements.
• Coordinate resources to support planned maintenance activities and reactive service requirements, ensuring customer commitments and outages are met.
• Act as a key point of contact for customers and internal stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and effective coordination of service activities.
• Raise and manage purchase orders in accordance with company procedures and approved budgets.
• Act as the primary liaison with the fleet management partner, ensuring vehicle compliance and minimising downtime.
• Maintain records relating to fleet utilisation, costs, and asset performance.
• Ensure all service activities and operational records are accurately maintained within company systems.
• Provide regular operational reporting and performance updates to management to support planning and continuous improvement.
