Job summary

Ex-Mil Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Field Technical Service Engineer to service and support specialist safety products across the Midlands and nationwide. The role blends hands-on engineering with fault diagnosis, remote support and customer training, with regular UK travel and a Midlands base option near Derby or Birmingham.

You will diagnose faults, differentiate causes, and escalate as needed while maintaining safety in healthcare and similar controlled environments.

Qualifications

• Hands-on engineering in field service or maintenance environments.
• Experience with mechanical and electrical/electronic systems.
• Ex-military engineers encouraged; civilian experience welcome.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly.

Responsibilities

• Servicing, commissioning, inspecting and rectifying mechanical, electrical and electronic products.
• Independently diagnosing faults and identifying lasting solutions.
• Distinguishing product faults from installation or user-related issues.
• Providing remote technical support and documenting findings.
• Delivering practical product training to customers and partners.
