HealdProtect, the service and maintenance division of Heald, seeks a field-based engineer to install, service and maintain automatic bollards, access control gates and safety systems across London and the South. The role combines daytime work with an on-call rota and occasional Saturdays, requiring autonomy and strong decision-making.
You will perform installations, commissioning and planned maintenance, travel regularly, and pass background/security checks.

We install, maintain, and support unique physical protective systems across critical infrastructure, commercial environments, and public spaces.
This is a hands‑on field-based engineering role responsible for:
Installation, servicing, and maintenance of:
Delivering both planned maintenance and reactive callouts
Working across London, the South (as far north as Birmingham) in varied environments (urban, roadside, commercial)
This role combines structured daytime work with independent out-of-hours response, requiring strong decision‑making and ownership
Technical & Work Capabilities
Prior experience with:
Backgrounds such as:
Industry‑specific knowledge of security systems
Important: Direct industry experience is not required — full product training will be provided.
Require a strict 9-5 routine
Dislike travel or London driving
Want predictable, low‑pressure workdays
Need constant supervision or support on‑site
Prefer passing issues on rather than owning solutions
Are uncomfortable working alone or on call
Scheduled jobs routed by the office
