Job summary

HealdProtect, the service and maintenance division of Heald, seeks a field-based engineer to install, service and maintain automatic bollards, access control gates and safety systems across London and the South. The role combines daytime work with an on-call rota and occasional Saturdays, requiring autonomy and strong decision-making.

You will perform installations, commissioning and planned maintenance, travel regularly, and pass background/security checks.

Qualifications

• Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults.
• Carry out installation, commissioning and servicing.
• Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM).
• Respond to breakdowns and resolve issues on-site.
• Pass safety and security requirements on-site.

Responsibilities

• Install, service and maintain automatic bollards, access control gates and related systems.
• Deliver planned maintenance and reactive callouts across London and the South.
• Work daytime with on‑call rota and occasional Saturdays.
• Travel regularly across London & the South within varied environments (urban, roadside, commercial).
• Take ownership from problem to solution while working independently.
