Job summary

CBSbutler is seeking a Field Service Engineer based in Woking for a hybrid role with four days on-site at Woking or customer sites in the South. Salary is £60,000-£70,000 per annum plus an on-call allowance.

You will work on secure systems used across the UK and internationally, requiring Defence/secure environment experience and SC/DV eligibility. Expect hands-on installation, maintenance and customer support across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• Experience in defence, secure government environments or military tech.
• Background with RF systems and secure communications.
• Experience with Cisco networking and Windows Server environments.
• Willingness to travel across the UK, occasional international travel.
• Eligible for SC and DV security clearance; participation in on-call rota.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission and configure secure networking and communications equipment.
• Carry out preventative maintenance, firmware upgrades and system health checks.
• Diagnose hardware and infrastructure faults using root-cause analysis.
• Support Windows Server environments, virtualisation, and secure networks.
• Provide remote 1st/2nd line support and customer-facing technical guidance.
• Produce documentation, maintenance reports and knowledge base articles.
• Contribute to deployments and lifecycle activities with logistics and project teams.
