Job summary

JBT Marel, a global leader in food technology, invites a Field Service Engineer to join our Adlington site in the UK. You will install and commission Proseal tray sealing machinery, perform maintenance, and repair equipment across the region, ensuring peak performance and first-class service.

The role requires strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills, customer-focused support, and willingness to travel.

Qualifications

• Recognised apprenticeship or qualification in Electrical or Mechatronic Engineering (NVQ Level 3, HNC/HND, or equivalent).
• Experience with automated machinery in manufacturing or food production.
• Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Mechanical fault-finding and understanding of machinery systems.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Good IT skills including Microsoft Office.
• Full UK Driving Licence and willingness to travel.
• Strong understanding of Health & Safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Install and commission Proseal machinery at customer sites across your region.
• Ensure equipment is operating safely and efficiently prior to handover.
• Support machine upgrades and modifications where required.
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance to maximise machine reliability and uptime.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and mechanical faults quickly and effectively.
• Provide both on-site and remote technical support to customers.
• Deliver operator and maintenance training to customer teams.
• Build strong relationships with customers through professional and responsive service.
• Ensure customer issues are resolved quickly and effectively.
• Identify opportunities for spare parts sales, service agreements, and equipment upgrades.
• Complete service documentation and reports accurately.
• Ensure all work is carried out in line with company procedures and Health & Safety standards.
