Job summary

JBT Marel is seeking a skilled Field Service Engineer to install, maintain, and troubleshoot advanced food processing equipment across the UK. This hands-on role requires mechanical and electrical expertise and a strong customer service mindset.

You will travel to customer sites, diagnose faults, perform preventive maintenance, and deliver clear service reports. The position offers autonomy, ongoing training, and opportunities for international travel with a global leader in food processing

Qualifications

• Technical qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Experience in field service, maintenance, or working with industrial machinery.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings is an advantage.
• Strong English communication skills (written and verbal).
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Install, service, maintain and repair equipment at customer sites across the UK with occasional travel abroad.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical faults to minimise downtime.
• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance.
• Provide clear and detailed service reports following each visit.
• Support customers with operational, maintenance, and basic troubleshooting guidance.
• Identify spare parts requirements and potential upgrade opportunities.
• Work closely with internal teams to ensure high-quality service delivery and customer satisfaction.

Are you ready to deliver hands-on technical support across the UK? JBT Marel is looking for a skilled and customer-focused Field Service Engineer to join our Service team, covering the UK. In this role, you will play a key part in supporting our customers by installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting advanced food processing equipment. This is an excellent opportunity for a multi-skilled engineer (mechanical & electrical) who enjoys working independently, solving problems on-site, and building strong customer relationships.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Carry out installation, service, maintenance, and repair of equipment at customer sites across the UK with the occasional travel abroad
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical & electrical faults efficiently to minimise downtime
• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance
• Provide clear and detailed service reports following each visit
• Support customers with operational, maintenance, and basic troubleshooting guidance
• Identify spare parts requirements and potential upgrade opportunities
• Work closely with internal teams to ensure high-quality service delivery and customer satisfaction

You are a hands-on engineer who enjoys working in the field and taking ownership of technical challenges. You are customer-focused, reliable, and able to work independently while staying connected with a wider team.
