Job summary

Carrier Rental Systems in the United Kingdom is seeking a skilled Service Engineer to repair and maintain diesel-powered pumps and generators across depot and on-site environments. The role focuses on Health & Safety, regulatory compliance, and keeping equipment safe, reliable and ready for customer operations.

You will service and overhaul pumps, generators and diesel engines, inspect equipment before deployment, travel to customer sites, and join an on-call rota with a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Mechanical experience with pumps, generators and diesel engines.
• NVQ Level 3 or an M&E related apprenticeship or equivalent.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Servicing, maintaining, and repairing pumps, generators, and diesel-powered equipment in depot and field environments.
• Preparing and inspecting equipment at the depot to ensure full operational capability before deployment.
• Carrying out major overhauls and refurbishments of end-of-life equipment.
• Diagnosing faults and performing repairs to minimise equipment downtime.
• Collaborating with the service team, hire controller and foreman to ensure smooth operations.
• EnsuringHealth & Safety regulations and company policies are followed at all times.
• Travelling to customer sites and participating in an on-call rota.
