Job description

Job Title: Field Service Engineer

Our client, with over 20 years of experience in the plant and tool hire industry, is rapidly expanding with over 130 branches nationwide. They are seeking a Field Service Engineer to support their growth, covering areas from Portsmouth to Exeter, Oxford, and Redditch.

Responsibilities:

1. Manage the standards of the regional hire fleet through routine preventative and remedial maintenance of all hire plant, tools, and equipment.
2. Ensure maximum lifespan of equipment by maintaining high maintenance standards.
3. Prevent excessive repair costs through routine plant maintenance.
4. Provide technical backup and support to branches.
5. Offer technical and maintenance training to staff.
6. Liaise with branches to supply spare parts and utilize recovered parts to reduce costs.
7. Provide technical support to staff.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in a mechanical role, ideally with plant or heavy machinery such as telehandlers, diggers, excavators, etc.
• Full driving license.
• Ability to use initiative and work independently.
• Industry knowledge or previous hire-related experience is desirable.

• Working hours: 44.5 hours per week (flexible).
