Field Service Engineer

Location

Home based - ideally Gloucester / Cheltenham / Bristol / Oxford region

Salary & Benefits

to cGBP35k basic (negotiable depending on experience) + generous overtime + vehicle + benefits

Company Overview

Our client has been established for half a century and specializes in the planned preventative and reactive maintenance and repair of the complete range of special purpose waste processing machinery. Due to continued success and ongoing strategic growth, they are seeking a multi-skilled Field Service Engineer to join their professional team.

Role Responsibilities

1. Maintain and repair hydraulic and electrical circuits.
2. Carry out basic fabrication activities and mechanical repairs.
3. Visit customer sites across the South West region of the UK, conducting servicing, fault finding, and repairs on machinery.
4. Read and interpret electrical and hydraulic circuit drawings.
5. Diagnose faults and carry out repairs on electrical control panels, hydraulic systems, and mechanical components.
6. Ensure safety protocols, including permit to work procedures, are followed.
7. Develop plans to maintain continuous operation of machinery and adhere to maintenance standards.

Candidate Requirements

1. Multiskilled engineer with experience in hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
2. Hands-on experience with hydraulic and electrical control circuits.
3. Welding experience is advantageous.
4. Self-motivated, able to work autonomously and as part of a team.
5. Strong fault diagnosis and repair skills.
6. Excellent communication skills and customer service orientation.
7. Ability to operate independently with minimal guidance.
