Job summary

Coalesce Recruitment Limited is seeking a Field Service Engineer to service and repair a range of mechanical and hydraulic equipment across Somerset, Avon, and parts of Wiltshire and Gloucestershire. You may be on-call 1 in 4 weekends with two evenings per week, and travel as required to customer sites.

You will receive hands-on training to gain industry certification, plus a company van, tools, workwear and ongoing career development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Ideally qualified in mechanical engineering, vehicle mechanics, plant machinery or similar.
• Experience using hand tools and servicing mechanical equipment.
• Knowledge of hydraulics and 12/24V electrics beneficial; full training provided.
• Experience with heavy vehicle plant/m machinery advantageous though not essential.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and unplanned service and breakdown repair to customer fleets in Somerset, Avon and parts of Wiltshire/Gloucestershire.
• Work on-call 1 in 4 weekends and 2 evenings during the week.
• Utilise a range of hand tools to repair, maintain and service mechanical equipment.

Field Service Engineer – Nationwide Service Provider – Somerset / Avon / Wiltshire / Gloucestershire – Salary: £29,120 - £31,200 + door to door + on-call + overtime = £40k - £50k + Company Van + Tools + Workwear + Training

On joining this business you will be trained on how to repair and service a wide range of mechanical and hydraulic equipment including load lifters, steps, cranes, ramps, winches and moving decks and in turn gain a recognised industry certification.

As Field Service Engineer you will carry out both planned and unplanned service and breakdown repair to customers vehicle fleets throughout Somerset, Avon and parts of Wiltshire and Gloucestershire when required.

The role will require you to be on-call 1 in 4 weekends and 2 evenings during the week.

You will ideally be qualified in mechanical engineering, vehicle mechanics, plant machinery or similar; be comfortable using various hand tools and have some experience in repairing, maintaining or servicing mechanical equipment. Any prior knowledge or experience of hydraulics and basic fault finding on 12 & 24 volt electrics would be beneficial although full training will be provided.

Previous experience of working on heavy vehicle plant / machinery, forklift trucks, agricultural machinery, compactors, bailers, road sweepers, telehandlers or similar equipment is a distinct advantage, though not essential.
