Job summary

Coalesce Recruitment Limited is seeking a Field Service Engineer to service and repair mechanical and hydraulic equipment across Somerset, Avon, and parts of Wiltshire and Gloucestershire.

You will be trained to gain industry certification, with a company van, tools, workwear and ongoing development supported by a close team of engineers and managers.

Qualifications

• Qualified in mechanical engineering, vehicle mechanics, plant machinery or similar.
• Experience using hand tools and servicing mechanical equipment.
• Knowledge of hydraulics and 12/24 V electrical fault finding beneficial; training provided.
• Experience with heavy vehicle plant or similar equipment advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and unplanned service and breakdown repairs to customer vehicle fleets.
• Be on-call 1 in 4 weekends and 2 evenings per week.
• Travel across Somerset, Avon, Wiltshire and Gloucestershire as required.
• Work with company van, tools, and training provided.

Field Service Engineer – Nationwide Service Provider – Somerset / Avon / Wiltshire / Gloucestershire – Salary: £29,120 - £31,200 + door to door + on-call + overtime = £40k - £50k + Company Van + Tools + Workwear + Training

On joining this business you will be trained on how to repair and service a wide range of mechanical and hydraulic equipment including load lifters, steps, cranes, ramps, winches and moving decks and in turn gain a recognised industry certification.

As Field Service Engineer you will carry out both planned and unplanned service and breakdown repair to customers vehicle fleets throughout Somerset, Avon and parts of Wiltshire and Gloucestershire when required.

The role will require you to be on-call 1 in 4 weekends and 2 evenings during the week.

You will ideally be qualified in mechanical engineering, vehicle mechanics, plant machinery or similar; be comfortable using various hand tools and have some experience in repairing, maintaining or servicing mechanical equipment. Any prior knowledge or experience of hydraulics and basic fault finding on 12 & 24 volt electrics would be beneficial although full training will be provided.

Previous experience of working on heavy vehicle plant / machinery, forklift trucks, agricultural machinery, compactors, bailers, road sweepers, telehandlers or similar equipment is a distinct advantage, though not essential.
