Due to continued growth, we are recruiting a field-based Vehicle Technician/ Field Service Engineer. As a Field Service Engineer, your role will be to maintain, repair, and respond to issues in the fleet of vehicles in your area.

This Field Service Engineer role offers the opportunity to work across the Midlands, paid door to door. If you have a background in plant, specialist vehicles, or HGVs, this role may suit you. Standard hours (Monday to Friday) are usually 45 hours with flexibility around start & finish times; any additional hours are paid at an enhanced overtime rate.

The Field Service Engineer will focus on servicing, maintenance, and repair of municipal sweepers, refuse vehicles, and gully tankers.

As the Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for:

• Fault diagnosis, repair, and routine maintenance of sweepers and other company equipment
• Ensuring all work is completed safely and complies with retailer, manufacturer, and industry guidelines
• Keeping up-to-date with administrative responsibilities, ensuring that all routine maintenance or repair work is documented accurately and promptly
• Evaluating, modifying, and preparing machines for hire at Dawsongroup emc depots and customer locations
• Providing technical advice to third-party engineers where required

To be successful as a Field Service Engineer, you will hold:

• Level 3 C&G qualification (Engineering) or equivalent
• Previous experience working as a Field Service Engineer / Vehicle Technician or in Commercial Automotive / Plant / Industrial / HGV / Machinery
• Experience working with hydraulics, pneumatics, engines, gearboxes, electrics, braking systems, or sweeper vehicles.
