Job summary

Ernest Gordon Recruitment Limited is seeking a Field Service Engineer to install, service and repair industrial machinery across the Midlands. You will work from home and travel directly to customer sites, supported by the company’s service office and technical team.

The role offers £35,000-£42,000 basic pay, plus door-to-door pay, enhanced overtime, a company van and ongoing training. A mechanical engineering background with electrical fault-finding skills and a full UK driving licence are

Qualifications

• Experience as Field Service Engineer or similar.
• Mechanical engineering background with electrical fault-finding knowledge.
• Full UK Driving Licence and willingness to cover the Midlands.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission, service, maintain and repair industrial machinery at customer sites.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical and pneumatic faults.
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and respond to breakdowns.
• Complete machinery inspections and produce accurate service reports.
• Provide technical advice to customers and operators while maintaining high standards of safety, workmanship, and customer service.

Location: Midlands

We are a long-established, family-owned engineering business supplying and supporting industrial machinery used to process solid wood, wood-based panels, plastics, composites, and metals. You will work from home and travel directly to customer sites across the Midlands, receiving support from the company's service office and technical team.
