Job summary

Generator Power in the UK seeks a Field Service Engineer to join our Stevenage team. The role is predominantly field-based, focusing on servicing, maintenance and rapid response to breakdowns on hire fleet and customer equipment.

You will work a Monday–Friday 40-hour week with generous overtime, performing installation, commissioning and fault diagnosis while ensuring paperwork is completed and assets are safeguarded.

Qualifications

• Experience on generators/plant equipment/heavy engineering (or similar)

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned service and maintenance work on hire fleet and customers' equipment.
• Fault location, diagnosis and rectification to hire fleet and customers' equipment.
• Installation and commissioning of power to temporary site accommodation.
• Loading and unloading of vehicles.
• Carry out duties on a call-out rota system.
• Completion and submission of paperwork and safeguarding company assets.

Monday to Friday 40 hours a week + Generous Overtime rates

Predominately field based role on customer sites carrying out routine servicing, repairs and responding to breakdowns”

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Carry out planned service and maintenance work on both hire fleet and customers equipment.
• Fault location, diagnosis and rectification to hire fleet and customers equipment.
• Preparation of equipment for hire.
• Installation and commissioning of power to temporary site accommodation. (Wiring in where appropriate).
• Loading and unloading of vehicles.
• Carry out duties on a call-out rota system.
• Carry out general housekeeping to ensure work areas are tidy.
• Completion and submission of all company paperwork as per procedure.
• Safeguard all Company assets; nothing leaves the depot without correct paperwork. .
• Ensure company vehicle or occasional loan vehicle supplied is kept clean and tidy at all times, serviced within manufacturer’s guidelines, and ensure any defects are notified to the correct parties and rectified in a timely manner.
