Job summary

Generator Power, based in Kendal, is seeking a Field Service Engineer to perform on-site maintenance and servicing of generator equipment for hire and customer sites. The role involves fault finding, installation, commissioning, and on-call duties, with a focus on safeguarding company assets and accurate paperwork.

The position offers a 40-hour week (Mon-Fri) with overtime rates, a company vehicle and mobile, and weekly pay.

Qualifications

• Experience on generators/plant equipment or heavy engineering is required.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned service and maintenance on hire fleet and customer equipment.
• Fault location, diagnosis and rectification on hire fleet and customer equipment.
• Prepare equipment for hire.
• Install and disconnect equipment on site and wire temporary site accommodation where appropriate.
• Load and unload of vehicles.
• Participate in on-call rota system.
• Complete and submit all company paperwork accurately.

Generator Power has experienced rapid growth in recent years and is undergoing further expansion providing an excellent opportunity for a Field Service Engineer based in Kendal.

• Monday to Friday - 40 hours a week, 8:00AM - 17:00PM + overtime rates.
• Weekly Paid.
• Company vehicle and Company mobile.
• Overtime rates applies.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Carry out planned service and maintenance work on both hire fleet and customers equipment.
• Fault location, diagnosis and rectification to hire fleet and customers equipment.
• Preparation of equipment for hire.
• Installation and disconnection of equipment on site. (Synchronizing where appropriate).
• Installation and commissioning of power to temporary site accommodation. (Wiring in where appropriate).
• Loading and unloading of vehicles.
• Carry out duties on call out Rota system.
• Completion and submission of all company paperwork as per procedure.
• Safeguard all Company assets; nothing leaves the depot without correct paperwork.

Experience required:

• Experience on generators/plant equipment/heavy engineering (or similar).
