Job summary

Generator Power in Kendal is seeking a Field Service Engineer to service and maintain generator equipment on hire fleet and customer sites. You'll troubleshoot faults, install and commission power, and support on-site operations with a focus on safety and asset protection.

The role runs Monday to Friday, 40 hours, with overtime and on-call duties. A company vehicle and mobile are provided to support field work.

Qualifications

• Experience with generators/plant equipment or heavy engineering.
• Ability to locate faults, diagnose and rectify issues on hire fleet and customer equipment.
• Able to work on-site and follow safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned service and maintenance on hire fleet and customer equipment.
• Fault location, diagnosis and rectification on hire fleet and customer equipment.
• Prepare equipment for hire and on-site installation/disconnection.
• Install and commission power to temporary site accommodation; wiring where appropriate.
• Load and unload vehicles and support on-call rota duties.
• Complete paperwork per procedure and safeguard company assets.

Generator Power is the UK's largest and privately owned generator rental company having enjoyed over 26 years of supply in the industry. Generator Power has experienced rapid growth in recent years and is undergoing further expansion providing an excellent opportunity for a Field Service Engineer based in Kendal.

• Monday to Friday - 40 hours a week, 8:00AM - 17:00PM + overtime rates.
• Weekly Paid.
• Company vehicle and Company mobile.
• Overtime rates applies.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Carry out planned service and maintenance work on both hire fleet and customers equipment.
• Fault location, diagnosis and rectification to hire fleet and customers equipment.
• Preparation of equipment for hire.
• Installation and disconnection of equipment on site. (Synchronizing where appropriate).
• Installation and commissioning of power to temporary site accommodation. (Wiring in where appropriate).
• Loading and unloading of vehicles.
• Carry out duties on call out Rota system.
• Completion and submission of all company paperwork as per procedure.
• Safeguard all Company assets; nothing leaves the depot without correct paperwork.

Experience required:

• Experience on generators/plant equipment/heavy engineering (or similar).
