Job summary

Coalesce Recruitment Limited is recruiting a Field Service Engineer to service wheelchair access equipment on light commercial vehicles across South Wales and Bristol. The role is home-based with nationwide travel expectations.

You will need to be time served or have proven experience as a Vehicle Technician, Plant Mechanic, or Mechanical Engineer, with a practical approach to problem solving and the ability to use basic hand tools. Training will be provided for 12V electrical fault finding.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2/3 in vehicle mechanics or similar.
• Ability to use common hand tools and carry out repairs/maintenance on light vehicles or equipment.
• Willingness to learn fault finding on 12V electrics is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Based from home, carry out planned inspection, repair and service of wheelchair access equipment on light commercial vehicles across South Wales, Bristol and nearby areas.
• Travel as required to service customers and meet planned maintenance schedules.
• Work in a practical, hands‑on capacity with a focus on quality and safety.

• Have you had enough of working within a workshop / dealership environment and now looking for an opportunity to break into a field service / mobile role where you can utilise and develop upon your previous experience?

Based from home, as Field Service Engineer you will carry out planned inspection, repair and service of wheelchair access equipment, oil and filters on customers light commercial vehicles throughout predominantly South Wales, Bristol and the surrounding region.

You will ideally be qualified to NVQ level 2 or 3 in vehicle mechanics, mechanical engineering or similar; have a practical approach to problem solving; be comfortable using various hand tools and have had some experience in repairing, maintaining or servicing light vehicles, plant or other mechanical based machinery or equipment.

Any prior knowledge or experience of basic fault finding on 12 volt electrics would be beneficial although full training will be provided.

All successful candidates must be able to pass a CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) check.
