Logisnext is recruiting a Field Service Engineer to service material handling equipment across Derbyshire and Leicestershire, with home-based working and a company van. The role offers an enhanced overtime package and a starting salary of £38,896 with progression after six months.

You will diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and engine systems, ensuring high customer satisfaction and efficient operations. Full product training is provided.

Qualificações

• Mechanical engineering background with related electrical knowledge.
• Experience servicing and repairing mobile machinery or similar equipment.
• Valid UK driving licence required.
• Familiarity with electrical drive & control systems, hydraulic and engine functionality.

Responsabilidades

• Service, repair and install material handling equipment across the Leicester, Derby and Nottingham region.
• Diagnose faults in electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and engine systems and implement solutions.
• Deliver excellent customer service and maintain accurate service records.
• Manage workload and autonomously schedule visits while ensuring safety and reliability.
• Support customers with installation or commissioning of new machinery and provide training when needed.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Field Service Engineer, you’ll be home-based, covering the Leicester, Derby and Nottingham areas. Your role will involve servicing, repairing, and installing material handling equipment for a wide range of clients, including high-profile organisations. You’ll work on single and three-phase machinery, ensuring our equipment runs smoothly and efficiently to help customers achieve their productivity goals.

This is a varied role where no two days are the same. You’ll be trusted to manage your own schedule, deliver excellent customer service, and tackle technical challenges head-on.

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking a mechanical engineer with some electrical experience. If you’ve worked in industries such as automotive, HGV, LGV, PSV, plant, agricultural, construction equipment, REME, or roadside recovery, we’d love to hear from you.

You’ll need a valid UK driving licence and practical knowledge of mobile machinery, electrical drive and control systems, diesel and LPG engines, hydraulics, and computer-based diagnostics. Previous field service experience is an advantage, but full product training will be provided.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll work from home covering a local radius within the Leicester, Derby and Nottingham region. Your day-to-day will include:

• Servicing, repairing and maintaining a wide range of materials handling equipment
• Diagnosing faults on electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and engine systems
• Delivering an excellent customer experience across a varied client base
• Managing your own workload and keeping accurate service records
• Installing or commissioning new machinery where needed
• Supporting customers to keep their operations safe, reliable and productive

Who We’re Looking For

You’ll succeed in this role if you have:

Essential

• Mechanical engineering background with some electrical knowledge
• Experience working on mobile machinery or similar equipment
• Valid UK driving licence
• Practical knowledge of:
• electrical drive & control systems
• diesel/LPG engines
• hydraulics
• computer-based diagnostics
