Job summary

UK Forks is seeking a skilled Field Service Engineer to maintain and repair our telehandlers and hire machinery on customer sites. You will be the frontline representative, delivering exceptional service and building lasting customer relationships.

The role requires practical problem-solving, a mechanical qualification (desirable), and a willingness to travel. A valid driving licence and strong time management are essential. Competitive salary and extensive benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Experience repairing and servicing plant equipment including Telehandlers – essential.
• A recognised mechanical qualification in mechanical plant or agricultural engineering – desirable.
• Good practical problem-solving skills with initiative.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair machines to high standards.
• Serve as frontline for customers with excellent service.
• Perform on-site maintenance and servicing of hire machinery.
• Provide effective breakdown resolutions and repair service.
• Troubleshoot technical/mechanical issues during site visits.
• Collaborate with operations to identify service improvements.
• Maintain accurate documentation of repairs, services and interactions.

Key Responsibilities

• As a Field Service Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in our team, ensuring the maintenance and repair of our machines are completed to our high standards.
• You will also serve as the frontline representative for our customers, ensuring exceptional service and fostering lasting customer connections.
• Carry out essential maintenance and servicing to our hire machinery on-site with customers
• Offer breakdown resolutions and an effective repair service
• Troubleshoot and resolve any technical/mechanical issue during site visits
• Collaborating with the wider operations teams to identify opportunities for improvements to our service
• Maintaining accurate documentation of all repairs, services, and customer interactions

What We’re Looking For

• Experience of repairing and servicing plant equipment including Telehandlers – Essential
• A recognised mechanical qualification in mechanical plant or agricultural engineering – Desirable
• A practical problem solver, using initiative where necessary
• A competent communicator with excellent customer service skills
• Willingness to travel to customer sites as and when required
• Well organised with experience of managing time effectively
• A valid driving licence
