Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to represent ABB as a Home Based, Field Service Engineer within an approx 1 hour radius to Newcastle upon Tyne, on customer paper manufacturing facilities. As part of the Northern Service Team, you will help to provide 24/7 support on site for ABB QCS and DCS equipment. After initial ABB product training, you will be responsible to deliver the Service Agreement to scope; activities include Preventative and Corrective maintenance on ABB QCS/DCS equipment, configuration, calibration, modification, cleaning, adjustment. Participating in a 1 week in 3 on Call Rota, you will work to develop a strong working relationship with customers across production and engineering. The work model for the role is: {remote} #LI-remote. This role contributes to the {Process Industries division} in {the UK}. You will be mainly accountable for:

• Providing high-level field and in-house technical support, including out-of-hours support.
• Providing application support and software troubleshooting to customers, on-site and remotely.
• Advising clients on maintenance procedures, evolution, site planning, operational methods, process measurement, and control.
• Preparing and writing technical reports for internal and external use.
• Promoting sales of maintenance services and equipment, including spare parts, and advising Sales department of possible sales leads.
• Assisting Sales and Account management with preparation of quotations.
• Commissioning equipment in the field as part of the project team.
• Preparing and presenting reports following site visits and a monthly report for allocated sites.

Qualifications for the role

• Degree or HND in Electrical or Measurement & Control Engineering.
• Clean Driving Licence (UK).
• Self-Motivated and able to work unsupervised.
• Demonstrate excellent customer focus.
• Good networking skills.
• Results orientation.
• Knowledge of Paper Industry - desirable.
• Knowledge of ABB QCS or DCS systems - desirable.
• Commercial awareness - desirable.
