Job summary

Omega Plc is seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer (Switchgear) to service LV/MV switchgear across South England, London to Midlands. You will conduct maintenance, diagnostics and technical support on critical power distribution systems for diverse customers.

The role requires a degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, 3+ years in a field service environment, and a valid UK driving licence. A company vehicle and private medical cover are among the benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Degree/HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in Field Service, Maintenance or Service Engineering.
• Strong knowledge of LV and/or MV switchgear systems and power distribution equipment.
• Experience with fault finding, diagnostics, inspection and testing activities.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and technical documentation.
• Strong customer-facing skills with clear communication of technical information.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on LV and MV switchgear and associated equipment.
• Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults, identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
• Perform inspection, testing, troubleshooting and repair activities to minimise customer downtime.
• Deliver field service activities in accordance with health, safety and quality standards.

Experience / Qualifications

• Field Service Engineer (Switchgear) Degree, HNC, HND or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.

• Experience carrying out fault finding, diagnostics, inspection and testing activities.

• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Experience with OEM switchgear manufacturers or critical power infrastructure environments would be advantageous.
