Job summary

Omega is seeking a Field Service Engineer (Switchgear) to service LV/MV switchgear across industrial, commercial and critical infrastructure sites. You will diagnose faults, perform inspections, tests and repairs, and deliver reports while ensuring safety and quality standards.

Ideal candidates have a relevant Electrical Engineering qualification and a minimum of 3 years in field service or maintenance, with a full UK driving licence and strong customer-facing communication.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in Field Service, Maintenance or Service Engineering.
• Strong knowledge of LV and/or MV switchgear systems and power distribution equipment.
• Experience with fault finding, diagnostics, inspection and testing.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on LV/MV switchgear and power distribution equipment.
• Diagnose faults and implement solutions.
• Perform inspections, testing, troubleshooting and repair work to minimise downtime.
• Prepare detailed service reports and maintenance documentation.
• Provide customer guidance and identify system improvements.
• Adhere to health, safety, quality and environmental procedures.
• Support and mentor junior engineers and technicians.
