Job summary

Alexander James Recruiting is seeking a field service/commissioning engineer to service pallet shuttle systems across the UK, working with automation and material handling equipment. You will travel nationwide, perform maintenance, and install/commission systems for new and existing clients while maintaining high customer service levels.

The role offers a competitive salary up to £55,000, a company vehicle, call-out allowances, overtime pay, and 20 days of holiday plus statutory holidays.

Qualifications

• Mechanical and electrical maintenance experience.
• Experience with pallet shuttle systems or automated/material handling equipment is preferable.

Responsibilities

• Servicing clients across the UK for pallet shuttle systems (2-way and 4-way).
• Perform preventative and reactive maintenance.
• Install and commission pallet shuttle systems for new and existing clients nationwide.
• Conduct mechanical and electrical maintenance.
• Provide remote technical support as needed.
• Represent the company professionally on client sites.

Job description

Alexander James Recruiting is currently working with a leading manufacturer of pallet shuttle systems seeking a field service/commissioning engineer to work with clients across the UK. With a great benefits package and earning potential through overtime, this could be a good opportunity for either an experienced engineer with a background working in Automation or Material Handling systems with electrical qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Servicing a client base across the UK fixing 2-way and 4-way pallet shuttle systems
• Carrying out both routine preventative maintenance and reactive maintenance
• Installing & commissioning pallet shuttle systems for both new and existing clients nationally
• Conducting both mechanical and electrical maintenance
• Providing remote technical support for clients as and when required
• Ensuring excellent customer service and representing the company in the right way when visiting customer sites

Requirements

The company have a preference for an individual with a background in maintenance and commissioning of pallet shuttle systems however this is not essential. The company would also consider applicants that have worked on other automated/material handling equipment provided they have both mechanical and electrical skills and hold relevant qualifications. It would also be highly preferable that you hold an ECS Card and if not, an 18^th edition or a level 3 in electrical installations/engineering. In terms of location, you will ideal be based in the East or South Midlands. It is also a requirement for the role that you hold a full, clean driver’s license. There will be an expectation to travel nationally and stay overnight as and when required.
