Job summary

Alexander James Recruiting Ltd. is seeking a Field Service Technician to service automated storage systems across the North West and beyond.

The role combines mechanical, electrical and control maintenance on conveyors, shuttle systems, cranes and robotics, with opportunities for overtime pay and on-call rotation. The ideal candidate has a strong automation background, understands Siemens PLC programming, and is comfortable working at customer sites, sometimes further afield in the UK.

Qualifications

Experience as an automation/robotics maintenance engineer.
Understanding of conveyors, shuttle systems, stacker cranes or similar automated equipment.
Preferably knowledge of Siemens PLC programming.
Willing to work on call on a rotation and overtime when required.

Responsibilities

Acting as the first line of technical software support for clients across the North West and further afield when required
Carrying out preventative/reactive mechanical, electrical & controls maintenance for automated equipment to include conveyors, shuttle systems, cranes and robotics
Overseeing the upgrading of the clients’ equipment
Working closely with the other technicians in the region to ensure that routing servicing is carried out efficiently
Ensuring that all industry standard health and safety is adhered to on-site
Completing all related administrative tasks to include quoting and technical documentation
