Gravis Robotics, a startup turning heavy construction machines into intelligent autonomous robots, seeks a Field Robotics Engineer to lead customer deployments and ensure system reliability.

This hybrid role combines hands-on engineering with project ownership, requires frequent travel across the UK and occasional international work, and offers collaborative work with R&D and Operations to deliver robust field solutions.

Qualifications

  • University degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience deploying, integrating, and debugging robotic software systems.
  • Experience with the ROS ecosystem.
  • Solid Linux proficiency.
  • Fluency with Git or other version control systems.
  • Good programming skills in C++ and Python.
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites (including internationally).

Responsibilities

  • Lead the technical execution of customer deployment projects from start to finish.
  • Own end-to-end technical planning, coordination, and follow-up with Operations.
  • Serve as a trusted technical contact for customers throughout deployment.
  • Provide hands-on technical support and guidance to customers and end users.
  • Perform regular system testing to ensure reliability and performance.
  • Generate performance reports and work with crossfunctional teams to resolve issues quickly.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of deployment processes, tooling, and best practices.
